Transport Company, Camp Direct Travels Alleges Of Fraud Prospective Corps Members

About 100 Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) have been allegedly scammed by a transport service provider, Camp Direct Travels.

The victims were stranded at Ojoo designated point in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State following the failure of their buses that will convey them to their various destinations to show up.

The Prospective Corps Members, who booked their tickets online with the transport company, are due to resume at their respective camps tomorrow, Thursday to begin their compulsory one national service.

One of the victims, Mr. Damola Ajayi, who spoke with ooduabulletin.com, disclosed that they have been waiting at the designated point since morning.

Ajayi said that the Prospective Corps Members involved are about 100 from different states in the South West.

‎“My name is Damola Ajayi, I am a Prospective Corps Member, I am due to resume camp in Plateau tomorrow. I booked my ticket with Camp Direct Travels, a transport company online, and I confirmed its office, which is located at Samonda area, Opposite Ventura in Ibadan before I booked the ticket at the rate of N32,600.

‎“After the booking I was given a designated point, which is Ojoo, where we are all going to board, and I have been here since with others waiting for the buses to arrive up till now, they have not showed up.

‎“We are not going to the same place; we have those going to Bauchi, Taraba, Plateau and some other states among us.

Some other victims of the Camp Direct Travels alleged fraudulent act said that they have been giving excuses that buses were coming from Lagos State and some other things.

They told ooduabulletin.com that they have lodged the complaint at the portal of the NYSC.

‎Meanwhile, efforts to reach out to the management of Camp Direct Travels proved abortive as their two official numbers 07088866338 and 09121239273 were switched off.

‎As at the time of filing this report, the victims have been finding their ways to reach their destinations, while others are returning to their respective base to replan their journey.
