Group Debunks Fatai Ibikunle’s Multiple Appointments Speculation

Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle

The Progressives League, a popular block within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, has discredited the speculation of multiple federal appointments given to the prominent leader of the party, Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle by President Bola Tinubu.

According to the statement by the Coordinator of the group, Barr Rasheed Adebolu, described the speculation as a figment of imagination of unscrupulous elements against the prevailing cohesion, peace and unity in the party.

The group frowned at the false claim being propagated in the media by unidentified groups in the Oyo APC on the latest appointment of Fatai Ibikunle as an Executive Director, South West Development Commission (SWDC) by President Bola Tinubu.

“It is quite disturbing that faceless individuals with no identification within our great party are trying hard to weaponize rumors to discredit President Tinubu of ineptitude and partiality in picking the party members and technocrats for appointments.

“Truly, Mr. President had earlier announced Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle as a Member of the Code of Conduct of Bureau (CCB), the development which was not inaugurated until his latest nomination as the Executive Director, Commercial and Environmental Development in the newly established South West Development Commission (SWDC).”

The group enjoined any individual or group willing to be abreast of the President’s choice to seek facts from appropriate quarters rather than disseminating falsehoods capable of creating disunity among the progressives’ political folds and largely chaos in the polity.

Barr Adeolu stressed that the latest announcement of Ibikunle into the South West Development Commission (SWDC) is the most appropriate for former executive aide to late former Governors, Lamidi Onaolapo Adesina and Isiaq Abiola Ajimobi respectively to explore his vast administrative experience towards the realization of the agency’s mandate.
