President Bola Tinubu has nominated Madam Usoro Offiong Akpabio, a prominent politician and strategist from Akwa Ibom State, as the Managing Director of the newly established South South Development Commission (SSDC).
The President also nominated the former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chibudom Nwuche from Rivers State, as the Chairman of the Commission.
The nominations were contained in letter written by the President and addressed to the Senate.
The letter was read during the plenary session on Thursday by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
President Tinubu requested for confirmation of the appointments of the nominees for the position of Managing Director and Chairman of the Commission.
