The Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde has disclosed that he will not allow anyone to set an agenda for him as far as the 2027 presidential election is concerned.
The governor maintained that he remained committed to the mandate given to him by the people of the state to deliver infrastructure, policies and programmes that will make lives more meaningful for them.
Makinde stated this on Tuesday, while appearing on Channels TV’s Politics Today.
He emphasized that he will not be distracted by the clamour in some quarters for him to run for Presidency in 2027.
Makinde, who disclosed that though he has the capacity to occupy the highest position in the land, however, said that what Nigerian people want, what his political party wants and what would be in the best interest of the people needed to be put into consideration.
He equally added that if his political journey ends with being governor of Oyo State, he would cherish the opportunity given to him by the people of the state.
