Victory Over Rwanda: House Of Reps Committee On Sports Congratulates Super Eagles

The House of Representatives House Committee on Sports, has sent a congratulatory message to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the Super Eagles following the 2-0 victory over Rwanda on Friday.

The Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Kabiru Amadu, in a statement he signed on behalf of the Committee, has congratulated that the victory reignited Nigeria hopes of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Hon. Amadu, who represents Gusau/Tsafe Federal constituency, however, urged the players not to be carried away with the victory and should be focused on the remaining games particularly the matchday 6 against Zimbabwe in Uyo.

“I want to congratulate the NFF and the Super Eagles for the victory the Nigeria national team picked in Kigali today. When they came for budget defense at the national assembly, the NFF promised to do everything possible in making sure that Nigeria doesn’t miss the world cup back to back.

Today, with the 2-0 victory, it’s becoming a reality. However, it is not over yet. The eyes of the players and the officials must be on the ball always until the remaining matches are won.” Amadu said.

With the victory, the 2013 African champions have six points from five games while South Africa topped the Group C table with 10 points after beating Lesotho 2-0 on Friday.

Following a 2-2 draw with Zimbabwe, Benin Republic are second with 8 points while Rwanda are third with seven points from five games.
