Governor Seyi Makinde presenting the staff of office to Oba Adegbola

The Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has presented the instruments of Office to the new Eleruwa of Eruwaland, Oba Samuel Adegbola in Ibarapa East Local Government.

Oba Adegbola, whose nomination was confirmed on Wednesday by the state governor, was unanimously elected by 18 kingmakers during the screening exercise

The instruments of office were presented to the new monarch at the Executive Chamber, Governor’s Office, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan on Thursday.

Governor Makinde revealed that he approved appointment of Oba Adegbola as recommended by the Kingmakers for Eruwaland to return to the path of development.

The governor, while reiterating the commitment of his administration to the promotion of the traditional institutions, reaffirmed that he will not interfere in the selection processes and affairs of the institutions.

Makinde charged other ruling parties in the Eruwa to work together for the development of the town instead of spending money unnecessary in court.

The governor acknowledged the role of traditional rulers in preservation of culture and traditions of the town and promotion of tourism sector.

In his acceptance speech, the newly crowned Eleruwa, Oba Samuel Adegbola, pledged to work for the reconciliation of Eruwa people and join hands with other traditional rulers in the zone for the progress of the state.
