
King of Fuji music, Wasiu Ayinde has said that the special bond he shared with renowned Islamic preacher, Sheikh Faruk Onikijipa propelled him to perform at his daughter’s wedding ceremony the same day he lost his mother.
The Fuji maestro lost his mother, Alhaja Halimot Shadiya Anifowoshe, who died at the age of 105 on Saturday.
Shortly after burying his late mother in Ijebu, Ogun State, earlier on Saturday, the Fuji star made his way to the wedding, which took place at Balmoral, Federal Palace, Victoria Island, Lagos State.
Reflecting on his loss while performing at the wedding ceremony, K1 revealed the profound impact of his mother’s death on him.
He emphasised that the special bond he shares with Sheikh Onikijipa made him attend and perform at the wedding against all odds.
According to him, his friendship with Onikijipa dates back in time, stressing that they have been friends since their youth.
He also used the opportunity to invite guests at the event to the Fidau prayers for his mother, scheduled to take place on Friday, 24 January 2025, in Ijebu, Ogun State.
