Following her emergence as the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Mojisola Meranda has paid a courtesy visit to the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC).
The body is the highest decision making body of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos State.
Meranda, who is the first female Speaker in the state, was accompanied by other members of the state Assembly to visited the GAC at Lagos House Marina on Tuesday.
The visit is to give updates on the recent developments at the legislative house and to seek the council’s blessings.
Speaking after the meeting, Meranda said the visit was to brief the GAC on the events leading to the impeachment of the former Speaker, Hon. Mudashiru Obasa and her subsequent emergence as the new leader of the House.
It will be recalled that the former Speaker, Obasa was impeached on Monday by more than two-thirds of the 40 members of the Assembly over allegations of misconduct and financial mismanagement.
