The Rivers State House of Assembly has condemned the presentation of the 2025 Appropriations Bill by Governor Siminalayi Fubara to the three-member Assembly led by Victor Oko-Jumbo loyal to him.
In his remarks, the Speaker, Amaewhule Martins, lamented the penchant of the governor for flagrant disregard for law and order.
The Deputy Speaker, Dumle Maol, criticized the governor for disobeying the judgement during the plenary on Tuesday.
The Deputy Speaker presented the Court of Appeal judgement which affirmed the legitimacy of the House as well as the Speakership of Martin Amaewhule.
Two other lawmakers also expressed their very strong displeasure at the governor’s actions, with a member, Smart Adoki, suggesting the judgement be submitted to security agencies for action.
On Monday, Fubara presented the 2025 budget proposal of ₦1.1 trillion to the Victor Oko-Jumbo-led Assembly.
