Oyo Assembly Passes 2025 Appropriation Bill Of N684b Into Law

The Oyo State House of Assembly has passed the 2025 Appropriation Bill into law.

The House made upward review of the proposed budget by six billion naira (N6b) increasing it from N678 billion to N684 billion.

The bill was passed at the plenary session on Wednesday after the House Committee Chairman on Finance, Appropriation and State Economic Planning, Hon. Sunkanmi Babalola presented its report before the House.

It will be recalled that, Governor Seyi Makinde on November 13, 2024 presented a budget proposal of Six hundred and Seventy-Eight billion, Eighty-Six million, Seven hundred and Sixty-Seven thousand, Three hundred and Thirty-Two naira, Eighteen kobo (#678,086,767,332.18).

The House, however, made an upward review of the budget, approving a total amount of six hundred and eighty-four billion, one hundred and forty-nine million, three hundred and ninety-eight thousand, three hundred and ninety-nine naira, six kobo (N684,149,398,399.06)

Speaking shortly after the passage of the budget, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, disclosed that one major reason for the upward review of the budget is to accommodate emerging priorities and critical projects that will drive economic growth, improve infrastructure, and enhance the overall well-being of our citizens.
