Troost-Ekong, Lookman, Seven Others Make CAF Player Of The Year Award List

Confederation of African Football (CAF) has nominated Super Eagles Captain, William Troost-Ekong, Ademola Lookman and seven others for the 2024 men’s Player of the Year Award.

Also nominated for the award are Achraf Hakimi of Morocco, Simon Adingra of Cote d’Ivoire, and Serhou Guirassy of Guinea.

Lookman’s nomination followed his performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, where he scored three goals as Nigeria reached the final of the tournament and his record-breaking display in the final of the 2024 UEFA Europa League.

The 27-year-old struck a hat-trick to become the first player in history to score thrice in the Europa League final as Atalanta became the first Italian club to win the tournament.

Troost-Ekong, named the 2023 AFCON Player of the tournament, scored three goals in the game.

The CAF Awards ceremony will take place in Marrakech, Morocco, on December 16.
