Oyo NUJ Mourns Demise Of Veteran Journalist, Sakin Babalola

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council has expressed sadness over the passing of Sakin Babalola, a veteran journalist and former News Editor at the defunct Sketch Press Limited and Oodua News Newspaper.

According to the statement signed by the Union’s Acting Chairman, Seye Ojo and the Secretary, Sola Oladapo on behalf of the Chairman, Ademola Babalola who is presently on annual vacation, described Sakin Babalola as a dedicated and passionate journalist who served the profession with distinction.

The NUJ Oyo State Council, in the statement, condoled the family, friends and colleagues of the deceased.

The Union described him as a devout Christian, a loving father, and a respected community leader.

“today, we mourn the loss of this exceptional individual and extend our condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues, may his soul rest in peace”, the statement added.

Veteran Journalist Sakin Babalola died at the age of 73.
