The chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Alhaji Fatai Bayonle Ibikunle has lamented the death of the Chairman of the party in the state, Barr. Isaac Ajiboye Omodewu.
Ibikunle described the passage of Otu, Itesiwaju Local Government born politician as shocking and one of the unfortunate losses and setbacks to have hit the progressives political camp lately.
In his condolence statement, Ibikunle extolled late Omodewu as a personable ally and thoroughbred technocrat, who tirelessly strived for equity, fairness and unity among people regardless of the eclipsing diverse ideologies and interests in the party.
According to him, “our late chairman was an iconic player in the modern Oyo State governance as a staunch party leader and key cabinet member of late former Governor Isiaka Ajimobi as Commissioner Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters later Lands, Housing and Urban Development.
“He was a dynamic and liberal stakeholder of the various state and national progressives groups of our great party before his emergence as Chairman of the party who assiduously worked for the election and inauguration of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu.
“We have unequivocally lost a rare gem in the evolution of local and grassroots politics who always prioritized the growth and development of his people, immediate community and the state at large,” he remarked.
Ibikunle availed the medium to enjoin fellow bereaved individuals across the folds to explore the sober mood to pray for the repose of the late chairman, fortitude to contend with the irreplaceable loss for his immediate family and see the period as a season to forgive and embrace one another over what have torn the unity in the party apart in the past.
