Bisi Akande, Wole Olanipekun, Bayo Shitu, Olaniyan Make List Of Heads Of Governing Councils Of Tertiary Institutions Appointed By Tinubu

Pioneer Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), renowned lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, former Minister of Communication, Bar. Bayo Shitu and former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Rauf Olaniyan made the list as President Bola Tinubu reconstituted the Governing Councils and Boards for the 111 federal universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.

The list was contained in a statement released by the Secretary to the Federal Government, George Akume.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the reconstitution of the Governing Councils and Boards of federal universities, and colleges of education for the effective management of Nigerian tertiary institutions across the country, the statement said.

According to the list, President Bola Tinubu appointed a former governor of Osun State and pioneer Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Chief Bisi Akande as the Chairman of the Governing Council of the University of Ibadan, UI, Oyo State, a renowned lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, UNILAG, a former Governor of Bauchi State, Isa Yuguda, NOUN, and a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Yayale Ahmed, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, ABU.

Others who made the list of Chairmen of the governing councils included former Minister of Communication, Bar Adebayo Shitu, Federal University of Medical Science, Ebonyi, former Deputy Governor, Engr. Rauf Olaniyan, Federal College of Education Special, Oyo and Professor Olatunde Adepoju, Federal College of Education, Ekiti.

Senator Joy Emordi was also appointed to chair the council of the Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education, Owerri, Imo State.

The list consists of five names each for 51 universities, and 22 colleges of education, 35 polytechnics.
