Popular Fuji icon, Alhaji Taiye Akande Adebisi popularly known as Taye Currency has denied the news making the rounds that he slumped while performing live on stage in London.
Currency, who is the father of the youngest lawmaker in the Oyo State House of Assembly, frowns at the news, described it as unfounded, untrue and misleading.
His Media Consultant, Prince Tope Eluyefa, disclosed this after having a telephone conversation with him on Wednesday morning.
He noted that Alhaji Akande was surprised as people have been calling him over the rumour.
Currency said that most of his shows are not only showing live but also connected to all social media handles of his friends and there is no time he collapsed or was rushed to the hospital.
“I want to inform my people all over the world and most especially my fans in Nigeria, family and friends at home that I am hale, hearty and strong. The writer is only doing the bidding of my detractors. All glory to Allah, Eluyefa, I have been busy with my job all around the world and not just busy but profitably busy.
“My people should calm down and I am on the street of London doing early morning exercise, no cause for alarm but I believe verification and balance of story is important in news reportage, this is not the time to be reporting hearsays. We need more prayers in Nigeria so that our situations can be better and I am fasting here too.”
It will be recalled that one of the Nigeria news bloggers reported that Taye Currency had collapsed while on stage and was rushed to a London hospital close to the venue.
Also confirmed the present situation was the London-base music promoter, who was with Alhaji Taye Currency at his London-home, he said that the popular musician only has a slight catarrh and he is getting better.
He said maybe that was what was mistaken as illness by one of his fans he spoke with in Nigeria and a news story was developed from that angle.
It will be recalled that Currency, who is the rave of the moment, jetted out of Nigeria to London for music engagements, and he successfully did it and was televised live on all his social media platforms in his usual style.
