The Oyo State Government has called for more youth participation in the creative industry to propagate the artistic culture of our society.

The Honourable Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Wasiu Olatubosun stated this at a Photography Exhibition titled “The Perspective: Humans of the World” held at the National Museum of Unity Aleshinloye, Ibadan over the weekend.

Olatubosun, while addressing the guests, commended the initiative of the Convener, Adeoluwa Adeniran, and called for more youth participation in the creative industry.

He added that the Oyo State Ministry of Culture and Tourism will create the enabling environment to encourage youths in the State.

He said, “We want more of your mates to be in the creative industry. Even though there were little or no funds to assist from the ministry, you still went ahead to prove your mettle,”

Drawing on his expertise, Olatubosun offered insightful recommendations for the themes, content, and presentation for future exhibitions.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Segun Ogungbayi, the MITV/Star FM General Manager who is a broadcaster and public affairs analyst, appealed to youths especially photographers to move away from the old order and try to be more unconventional like Mr. Adeoluwa.

He also declared the exhibition open with words of appreciation and encouragement. Mr. Adeniran was supported with some individual donations.

For those who attended the exhibition, Adeoluwa Adeniran, the visionary behind 2701 Visuals, didn’t just capture moments in his photographs; he orchestrated them. Beyond technical prowess, his genius lies in defying convention. In Ibadan, where photography remains rooted in traditional forms, Adeniran breaks new ground with his unconventional style of photography.

Apart from the photographs with compelling back stories that were sold, three films were also exhibited at the event.
