One month after the demise of the late governor of Ondo State, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, the new governor of the state, Lucky Aiyedatiwa has announced the dissolution of the State Executive Council, with immediate effect.
The governor made the announcement on Wednesday through his spokesperson, Ebenezer Adeniyan.
“All members of the Cabinet (who were appointed by late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu) are to immediately hand over to the Permanent Secretaries or the most senior administrative officers in their respective offices.”
Aiyedatiwa also relieved all Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) and Special Assistants (SAs) of their duties.
“All the affected officials are directed to hand over all government properties in their possession.
“The Governor thanks the affected officials for their services and contributions to the development of the state.”
Aiyedatiwa was sworn in as the substantive governor of Ondo State on December 27, 2023, following the death of Akeredolu.
