The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has unveiled a football club named Dove FC as part of the church’s evangelism campaign to bring the youth out of criminality.
The unveiling was held at the Redemption Camp over the weekend.
The church General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye admonished the players to deemphasize money to the service of God.
Pastor Adeboye said that if the players are into football to serve God, heaven will be their limit, stressing that if they were truly dedicated to the service of God, the world would hear and celebrate them.
“Winning is not by might but by God’s divine, to be a winner, you must have God by your side,” Adeboye said.
The Chairman of the Dove Football Club, Prince Dapo Ajibade, said that the church was trying to break new grounds with the establishment of the team.
“By the special grace of God and with the support of the GO, Dove FC will expand to become the biggest brand in the world,” he said.
He further stressed that the players were selected from the six regions of the country and are between the ages of 16-21 with the aim of preparing them for a possible professional career.
