Wednesday, 27th of September, 2023 has been declared as a public holiday by the federal government.
This is in commemoration of the Eil-al- Maulid celebration, which marked the birthday of Prophet Muhammed.
In a statement by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Dr. Oluwatoyin Akinlade, on behalf of the Minister, Hon Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, congratulated Muslims for witnessing this year’s occasion.
The Minister used the occasion to admonish Muslims all over the country to imbibe the spirit of love, patience, tolerance and perseverance which are deep spiritual virtues that the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him ) exemplified.
