The Speaker of the Oyo state House of Assembly, Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin has reappointed Alhaji Oyetunji Oyekunle as his Chief Press Secretary..
Ogundoyin confirmed the reappointment on Tuesday in a post on his official Facebook page.
Oyekunle, who is a seasoned journalist, served in the same capacity throughout Ogundoyin’s first term as Speaker of the state’s assembly.
While expressing confidence and trust in Oyekunle’s professionalism and skills to manage his public image, Ogundoyin described him as one of the best journalists he had come across.
“Join me to congratulate Alh Oyetunji Oyekunle as I reappoint him as my Special Assistant on Media Matters.
“You remain one of the most excellent journalists I have had the pleasure of coming across.
“You have always been dedicated to your job. Though it could be challenging, you have always remained calm and professional.
“I make bold to say that your commitment to duty and sense of purpose is exemplary.
“Thanks for projecting my image and telling my stories wonderfully and positively in the last four years.
“Let’s do it again together. Congratulations Alhaji,” the post reads.
Reacting to the development, the Oyo State House of Assembly correspondents have sent their congratulatory message to Alhaji Oyetunji Oyekunle over his reappointment.
The correspondents equally commended Ogundoyin on the development, describing it as retaining a round peg in a round hole.
In a press statement jointly signed by the correspondents’ Chairman, Mr. Mosope Kehinde and Director of Public Communication; Mr. Femi Ojo, described Oyetunji as a thoroughbred professional and of impeccable character.
According to the statement, assembly correspondents chairman disclosed that the brotherly relationship between the Speaker and his media aide since inception of the 9th Assembly in 2019 has ushered in impressive development in the general wellbeing of resident journalists at the legislative arm of government.
While expressing confidence in a sustained harmonious relationship between the legislature and the media, Mosope Kehinde reaffirmed the commitment of the assembly’s resident journalists towards adequate media coverage and projection of activities of the 10th House.
He also assured Oyetunji of the correspondents’ continuous support to enable him function more optimally in his renewed appointment.
