The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is getting set for the conduct of fresh election in Surulere Federal constituency of Lagos State.
This was followed by the letter of resignation tendered by the former Speaker and Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila.
Gbajabiamila tendered his resignation as a lawmaker on the floor of the House of Representatives Wednesday.
This is to allow him to be able to focus on the task of serving as Chief of Staff.to the President.
Concerns had emerged as to how he was going to manage both roles given that the former Speaker had been inaugurated alongside his colleagues on Tuesday and had voted as well for the leadership of the House.
However, exclusive information revealed that the electoral body, INEC will need to conduct a fresh election to fill the position.
