
Barrister Sulaimon Ajeniyi Ajewole has been elected as the new President-General of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII).
The election took place at Ibadan House, Oke-are area, Ibadan, Oyo State capital on Saturday.
Ajewole, an astute lawyer, polled a total vote of forty-six to defeat his opponent and incumbent President-General of CCII, Prince Oluyemisi Adeaga, who scored thirty-nine.
The emergence of Ajewole sparked wild jubilation among the delegates who are from the ninety-nine clubs which participated in the election exercise.
Also elected as members of the new executive were Samson Taiwo as Vice President- One and Kola Olomide as Publicity Secretary.
The election was judged as free and fair.
The newly elected President-General and his team were advised to focus on unity among indigenes, security of Ibadan neighborhood and the completion of Olubadan’s Palace.
