The embattled popular comedian and skit maker, Ganiyu Kehinde popularly known as Lande has explained why he attempted to commit suicide.
While exonerating his wife from the allegation of frustration and depression occasioned by the financial challenges, confessed that the move to take his life has spiritual undertone.
The comedian disclosed this in a video released on Friday to seek forgiveness from his fans all over Nigeria.
Lande revealed that he is aware that his wife has two children, the younger one is about nine or ten years old.
He added that his wife has contributed to his progress, saying that she gave him a sum of N900,000 to complete the payment of his Lexus car and even encouraged him to bring his kid to Lagos from Osun State.
The skit maker refuted the allegation of begging for financial assistance from people, noting that one of his friends, Ijesha, advised to reach out to his colleagues in the comedy industry for assistance.
According to him, “the only person I sent a direct message to was Sirbalo the Cunning Man and it was due to the relationship we have. He has invited me to work with him, which I did without taking a kobo from him. I think if I can reach out to him based on our relationship, he could be of help, but he only read my text, he did not reply.
“My wife knows nothing about my problem or the challenges I am facing. She has been feeding her children before we met in 2015 after she departed from her ex-husband. I am aware that she had two children and I agreed to marry her . The youngest of her kids is about nine or ten years old and we are not living together.
“I don’t know why all this lies about my wife coming from or maybe they want me to lie against her too. If she has three kids I will say it, even if they are five I will say it, is there a crime in having children?
“I am one person who doesn’t believe in terrestrial power, now with what happened to me, I have confirmed that there is terrestrial power because what happened to me was a spiritual attack. Nobody pushed me; I jumped into the river myself.
“I just want to appeal to Nigerians, my fans to forgive me, it was even their prayers that made me survive, they should just forgive me for what happened,” Ijoba Lande appealed.
The skit maker was announced missing on Sunday, three days after he celebrated his birthday by his wife following a video where she appealed to his fans to help her to locate her husband.
