
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Lagos State governor and candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Babajide Sanwo-Olu as the winner of the state governorship election.
Babajide Sanwo-Olu polled a total number of 762,134 votes to defeat the Labour Party candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, who scored 312,329 votes.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Abdulazeez Adeniran came a distant third after he polled 62,449.
The results of the election were announced by the INEC Returning Officer, Prof. Adenike Temifayo-Oladiji.
He said that the total number of valid votes is 1,155,678, total vote cast is 1,173,631 and rejected votes is 17,953.
