With the deal, Ronaldo will become the highest earner in sports after reportedly agreeing a sensational bumper £173 million-a-year contract with Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia.

Spanish newspaper outlet Marca has now reported that Ronaldo has agreed a two-and-a-half year deal with Al Nassr -worth £173m-per-year – that will see him play until the age of 40.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner is currently taking part in the FIFA World Cup in Qatar with Portugal. Portugal have won two matching in their group which has automatically qualified them for the second round.

Ronaldo scored a penalty in Portugal’s first match against Ghana thereby making history as the only player to score in five different World Cups having also scored in 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2018 editions.

The Portuguese star is determined to leave Europe and accept Al-Nassr’s lucrative offer, according to MARCA.
