
Nigeria’s Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen has won the Best Young Player Award at the 2022 Globe Soccer Award.
The Napoli forward beat Gavi and Valverde to scoop the prize in a ceremony held at the Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai on Thursday.
The award for the 23-year-old striker comes as recognition for his achievements in leading Napoli back to the Champions League this season.
He defeated Manchester City forward Julian Alvarez, Barcelona midfielder Gavi, and AC Milan forward Rafael Leao, Borussia Dortmund midfielder, Jude Bellingham, and Real Madrid midfield duo Federico Valverde and Eduardo Camavinga.
Osimhen despite his injury troubles this season has been the key man for Napoli as they lead the Italian Serie A with eight points.
He is also the top scorer in the Italian league with eight goals and has a total of 10 across all competitions this season.
