3SC Technical Adviser Reads Riot Act, Says Only Quality Players Will Make Squad

The Technical Adviser of the Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, Gbenga Ogunbote has warned the players to double their efforts as the team getting set for the 2022/23 season.

Technical Adviser of the club, Gbenga Ogunbote, has challenged the players to double their efforts.

Ogunbote, who is the former Sunshine Stars and Rangers International tactician, gave the hint while addressing the players after the Oluyole Warriors were held to a 1-1 draw by Ilaji FC in a friendly match.

Oracle, as he is fondly called, apparently unhappy with the outcome of the encounter, played on Thursday morning at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Coach Ogunbote, charged the players to brace up, warning that only those who meet the required standard will make the final squad for the season.

According to him, “it is left to you to decide whether you will make the team or not. You have the chance to decide your fate and that depends on what you are able to put up.

“The reason why we have quality players here is to produce a quality team, but if your performance fails to deliver the performance required, you know what can happen,” Ogunbote said.

Although the team has been having a good run of results in its pre season matches, Ogunbote, who piloted Remo Stars to pick a continental ticket in the 2021/22 season, reckoned some of the players are yet to produce the expected qualities, hence his charge to them to brace up.

Meanwhile, more build up games are on the cards as preparation for the season continues, with a likely trip to Ilaji Sports and Resorts Centre, next week for another tie against Ilaji FC, as well as participation in the Governor Seyi Makinde Pre season Tourney and another pre season competition outside Ibadan.
