Nigeria’s Flamingos secured a spot in the Semi Finals of the ongoing 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup after defeating USA on penalties.
Nigeria defeated USA by 4-3 on penalties after the game ended 1-1 at regulation time at the DY Patil Stadium, Navi, Mumbai on Friday.
Nigeria player, Omamuzo Josephine Edafe scored first at 26 minutes of the game through a penalty, while Amalia Martina Villarreal equalized at 40 minutes.
At the end of the regulation time, the match went straight into the penalties shoot-out.
Nigeria’s Flamingos scored 3 out of their spot kicks and missed 1, while USA managed to score 2 and missed 2, ending the game in favour of Nigeria on 4-3.
