Oyo Lawmaker, Hon. Fowokanmi Consolidates On Achievements, Drills 7 Boreholes Across Constituency

Member of the Oyo State House of Assembly representing Ibadan South West constituency 2, Hon. Fowokanmi Oluwafemi has consolidated on his achievements by embarking on drilling of seven borehole water projects across the constituency.

The borehole water project which commenced on 20th of September, 2022, will cut across three different locations in Ward 12 including Owode Garage, Odo-Ona and Idi-Ishin. Others will be located at Ward 10, Oke-Ado Liberty Road, Ward 9, Molete, Peoples Girls Grammar School area, Ward 8, Dental Dugbe and Ward 7, Oke-Bola Agbokojo area of the constituency.

This is part of the lawmaker’s effort to consolidate on his achievements and ensure that people at the grassroots enjoy the dividends of democracy.

In his constituency outreach journey, Hon. Fowokanmi, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Education had trained not less than 70 youths within the constituency in various vocations such as barbing, tailoring, make-up, catering and hairdressing and handed over their equipment such as sewing machines, hairdresser standing dryers, baking oven and camp cylinders and make-up kit bag to all the graduating students.

The lawmaker, in his politics of all inclusive, also provided succor to the people living with disabilities within the constituency by empowering them with cash and grinding machines.

In his continuous effort to make sure that dividends of democracy reach all the nooks and crannies of the constituency, gave monetary assistance of about N2.5 million to support the businesses of 90 people selected across six wards to boost their trading activities.

All these are apart from the skill acquisition programme organized for 100 youths and trader monies gifted to 45 people as part of palliative to cushion the effect of covid-19.

Hon. Fowokanmi has provided assistance in fixing faulted transformers to ensure supply of electricity and construction of bridges and covets to ensure smooth passage of cars in Bolumole and Oluyole areas of the constituency.

The lawmaker also succeeded in securing car loans for not less than 30 teachers from both secondary and primary schools and facilitated teaching jobs for another 27 young teachers under the Oyo State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM).

Hon. Fowokanmi, who promised to continue to be a good ambassador of the constituency, expressed gratitude to the state Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, who he described as a leading light for all the political office holders in the state.

He said all he has done is to compliment the efforts of the governor to bring the state from poverty to prosperity.
