National Coordinator of Pro Asiwaju Bola Tinubu group, Disciples Of Jagaban (DOJ), Comrade AbdulAkeem Adegoke has described the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as a candidate Nigeria needs at the moment.
He said it is important for Nigerians to have a clear understanding of what they needs and wants.
Comrade Adegoke said this while speaking at the South West meeting of the group in Ibadan, Oyo State capital on Saturday.
The DOJ National Coordinator said Asiwaju Tinubu is a man of vision, purpose and with needed skills to transform and set Nigeria on the right path.
According to him, “there are some things we need, we may not want. In the case of Tinubu, Atiku and Obi, some people want Peter Obi but nobody needs him, those who want Abubakar Atiku, want him but they don’t need him, and those who don’t want Tinubu need him.”
Comrade Adegoke said the presidential seat is not by political promises, but by what candidates have done in the past.
He further explained, “all of them have records, let’s visit their track records, Tinubu transformed what Lagos is today, Tinubu is a builder and a manager who will manage the resources of the country for the growth and development of all region.
“Atiku knows Tinubu has the skill, Peter Obi knows he has the knowledge and that Tinubu is the best among them, but when politics happens, they don’t want to acknowledge his prowess,” he said.
He said Disciples of Jagaban (DOJ) was the first political movement that began mobilization for the actualization of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s 2023 presidential ambition.
Addressing the gathering, the Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, admonished the group and party faithful across the country to work tirelessly to ensure the victory of the party candidates in 2023, for the presidential, governorship, national and state houses of assemblies elections.
“The number of registered voters in the South West is about 18.4 million, Oyo and Lagos States carry about 10.5m, from the South West figure, that means, Oyo State and Lagos State must deliver at least 90 -95 percent of it.”
The Oyo APC chairman used the opportunity to make passionate appeal to all aggrieved leaders in the state to shelve their swords in the interest of the party.
“There is no way there won’t be rancor, let’s settle whatever it is, unlike in the past that we didn’t have time to resolve our differences, we now have enough time to settle the difference, life is about give and take”
Also speaking, Women Leader, Lagos State Disciples Of Jagaban, Alhaja Bajilaye Mutiat, said the South West DOJ was in Oyo State to canvase, mobilise and admonish more women to support Asiwaju in his bid to become the next president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Alhaja Mutiat explained that women can not afford to watch afar and expect things to change for better.
The South West Coordinator of the group, Hon Gbemileke Olawore, said that APC is lucky to have a presidential candidate like Asiwaju Tinubu who is competent and sellable.
They, however, declared their unflinching support for the APC Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and his vice presidential candidate, Dr. Kashim Shettima.
The meeting had in attendance representatives of the group from Ekiti, Ondo, Oyo, Ogun, Lagos and Osun States.
