Oyo Lawmaker, Akeem Mustapha Loses Dad, Alhaji Ganiyu, Emerges Khalifa Of Dynasty 

The lawmaker representing Kajola state constituency in Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Akeem Mustapha has lost his father, Alhaji Mustapha Ganiyu Akano.

The deceased, who died on Tuesday at the age of 79, has been buried in line with Islamic rites on Wednesday.

Alhaji Mustapha Ganiyu Akano during his lifetime was a teacher before he resigned to contest for councillorship seat in 1976 under the zero party. He was later appointed as a member of the caretaker committee.

Until his demise, he was an Islamic cleric and the Khalifa (Head) of Mustapha Ganiyu dynasty.

Final prayer according to the family will hold Saturday in honour of the departed soul.

Meanwhile, following his demise, Hon. Akeem Mustapha has been installed as the Khalifa (Head) of Mustapha Ganiyu dynasty.

The lawmaker, who is the Chairman House Committee on Public Finance and Appropriation, was turbaned in a short ceremony.

Hon. Mustapha in his appreciation speech, promised to be a good ambassador and uphold the tenets on which the dynasty is built.

The lawmaker also assured to govern the people in accordance to Islamic injunctions and the foundation built by his late father.

He, therefore, prayed Allah grant him Al Jannah Firdaus and be with the family and group he left behind.

According to him, “let me first of all thank almighty Allah on behalf of my late father, for a life well spent, I pray Allah grant him Al Jannah Firdaus and give us the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

“I want to thank everyone, who deems me fit to take up the leadership mantle of this dynasty. I promise to govern in accordance with Islamic injunctions and the foundation built by our father,” Hon. Mustapha said.
