In a bid to ensure that the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State emerge victorious at the next year general elections, the party national leader and presidential aspirant, Bola Tinubu has advised Teslim Folarin to pacify all the aggrieved members and work together.
The former Lagos State governor gave the admonition while meeting with the Oyo State delegates at Civic Centre, Ibadan on Thursday.
While reiterating that people following Senator Folarin ups and downs are not enough to win the governorship election, the APC chieftain expressed that it is imperative for Sen. Folarin to reach out to the aggrieved party members in the nooks and crannies of the state to appeal and pacify them before the 2023 general elections.
According to Tinubu, “Folarin has to embark on a door-to-door reconciliation move with a meeting with elders, aspirants and relevant stakeholders.
“As a national leader of the party, I will help you by scheduling meetings with all the aggrieved parties, as well as relevant stakeholders but You have to work, walk, even with touch light and lantern to appeal to leaders, women, youths and other aspirants so that we can win the governorship in 2023.
“After you have done that, I will come back and raise your hands up and campaign for you to emerge victorious,” Tinubu said.
Senator Folarin, in his reaction, urged the delegates to reciprocate the gesture of Tinubu by voting massively for him at the party convention.
He said Tinubu has demonstrated rare qualities of good leadership and needed to be supported with the votes of the delegates from the state.
Folarin disclosed that he has commenced reconciliation moves with the aggrieved parties but solicited the support of the national leader in achieving the lofty objective.
According to him, “I know our leader will always work for the interest of the party. He will not want us to lose the state to the opposition party.”
