The National Screening Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party in Oyo State has cleared Hon. Bolu Adebayo to participate and contest in the party primary to represent Oluyole Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives in the next general elections.
Hon. Adebayo, who received the provisional clearance certificate from the National Screening Committee led by Dr. Adolphus Wabara, after he was screened to participate and contest in the exercise on Wednesday.
The aspirant, Hon. Bolu Adebayo, who was a naval officer, attracted the attention of the screening committee as a result of what was described as an ‘intimidating curriculum vitae’ by the Chairman.
The screening exercise further led to discussion of other sundry issues between the committee members and the aspirant who had spent 11 years of uninterrupted service as naval officer.
The Chairman of the Committee described Hon. Bolu Adebayo as a genius, “you are a genius and I am so impressed with your outstanding CV”.
The Committee, after the screening exercise cleared him to participate and contest in the primary and however, allowed him to take picture with the Wabara led committee.
Meanwhile, a directive from the governor of the state, Engr. Seyi Makinde, stating that any appointee, who is yet to resign his appointment should not be cleared to participate in the party primary has put Hon. Bolu Adebayo in a vantage position, because none other aspirants who are vying for the same seat are yet to submit their resignation letter as at the time of filing this report.
Upon receiving the directive, it came as a rude shock to them as none of them had been able to tender his resignation letter before coming for the screening exercise on Wednesday.
Bolu Adebayo, however, thanked the members of the National Screening Committee and the State executives for allowing a hitch free exercise, saying that the party has a brighter future if all other exercises are free, fair and transparent as this.
In this same vein, leaders of the Party in Oluyole Local Government have been sending congratulatory messages to Hon. Bolu Adebayo, who is among the top and leading aspirants contesting for the Oluyole federal constituency seat in the House of Representatives.
