A chieftain of All Progressive Congress (APC) and aspirant for the House of Representatives in Lagelu/Akinyele Federal Constituency, Arc (Dr.) Hassan Giwa has sympathized with the family of late Alaafin of Oyo, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi over the death of the monarch.
The HOG Foundation founder also sympathized with the kingmakers (Oyo Mesi) and the entire indigenes of Oyo town and prayed that God gives them fortitude to bear the loss.
Giwa, in a statement on Monday, described the death of the late Alaafin as a great loss, saying that it is not only a loss to Oyo or Oyo State but to the entire Yoruba race.
He added that the vacuum left behind by the late monarch will be too wide to fill.
The renowned Architect said that the late Oba Adeyemi was all encompassing, noting that he was a very accommodating, educated, cultured, disciplined and generous monarch.
According to the statement by Arc Giwa, “Nigeria, not only Oyo or Oyo State has lost a great monarch, in the person of the late Oba Lamidi Adeyemi. The late monarch was a man of many parts with great qualities. He was a great historian, an educationist par excellence with a high level of discipline. He was a very accommodating, cultured and generous monarch.
”No doubt, the vacuum the death of late Oba Adeyemi left behind will be too large to fill but I pray to almighty God to give his immediate family, Oyo Mesi and the entire indigenes of Oyo town the fortitude to bear the loss,” the statement reads.
