As the world celebrates Easter season, the President of the Christian Legislators’ Fellowship International, Oyo State House of Assembly and Lawmaker representing Ibadan South West state constituency 2, Hon. Oluwafemi Adebayo Oluwafowokanmi has enjoined Christian faithful to always upholding the tenets of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Hon. Fowokanmi, in his felicitation message to Christians in Nigeria, Oyo State and his immediate constituency, delivered at the 2022 Christian Legislators’ Fellowship International Easter programme tagged “The Traditional Lord’s Supper on Thursday, sued for unity, peace and love among the people.
The lawmaker, who is the President of the Christian Legislators in the state Assembly, described Easter season as a period of trial, sacrifice and victory over death occasioned by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Hon. Fowokanmi disclosed that the importance of the season is to uphold the principles, tenets and lessons the season preaches, which he said are unity, peace and love to ensure peaceful coexistence among one another.
“We thank God that we are one of the partakers, and the people witnessing this year’s Easter celebration and I pray that the purpose of the festival shall be fulfilled in our lives. I felicitate with Christians in Nigeria, Oyo State and in my constituency, as they join their brothers and sisters in celebrating Easter.
“Easter period is a period of trial, sacrifice and victory over death. This victory is achieved by the resurrection of Jesus Christ. What is important is to ensure the lessons of the festival in which love, unity and peace are put into practice by the Christian faithful to be able to maintain peaceful coexistence among the people.
“I use this period to felicitate and pray for our amiable governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, the leadership and members of the Oyo State House of Assembly under the leadership of Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin and the entire cabinet of the governor for more wisdom, knowledge and understanding to continue to steer the ship of Oyo state to the Promised Land.
“And to the people of my constituency, I want to congratulate you on the occasion of Easter and I pray that we are all going to witness next year’s celebration. I want to as well assure you that I will continue to be a good ambassador of the constituency in the state House of Assembly. I will not renege on my promises to the people by continuing to deliver on good and quality representation,” Hon. Fowokanmi said.
