Glamour, Funfair As St. Michael Win Hon. Kazeem Isiaka Arole Inter School Competition

It was an atmosphere full of glamour and excitement at ADS Model School, Alagbon, Oyo, venue of the final match of the maiden edition of football competition donated and sponsored by the lawmaker representing Oyo East/Oyo West in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. isiaka Kazeem Tunde.

In the final match played on Monday, St Michael’s Primary School, Araromi, Oyo East emerged the competition defeating ADS Model Primary School, Alagbon on 4-3 penalties after the regulation time ended one goal apiece.

Speaking at the event, the donor and Sponsor of the competition, Hon. Isiaka Kazeem Tunde (Arole), reiterated  his commitment to revive the grassroots sports and discover hidden talents.
“the objective of the project is mainly to revive grassroot sports from the primary school level in order to discover talents among primary school pupils.”
The lawmaker, who is the Chairman, Committee on Culture and Tourism in the Oyo State House of Assembly, hinted that the competition has become an annual event among the primary schools in Oyo
The donor, Arole as he is fondly called splashed cash prizes, certificates of participation, set of jerseys and giant trophies on the Winners, St Michael Primary School and runners up ADS Model Primary School..
Also enjoyed financial gestures from the donor were the winners of individual honours including Most Valuable Player (MVP), Highest Goal Scorer, Best Goalkeeper and Coach of the tournament.
In the third place match played on Friday, Baptist Primary School, Ishokun  claimed 3rd prize after defeating ADS Model Primary School, Balogun, Oyo East.
ADS Model Primary School, Balogun eventually won the most disciplined team of the tournament despite came 4th.
Other highlights of the event today was cultural dance from pupils of ADS Model, Alagbon and highly entertaining novelty match between members of the National Association of Primary School Games and Sports Teachers, NAPGAST and Team Arole which ended in a scoreless stalemate.
Top government functionaries, officials of Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT), politicians and members of Oyo State Coaches Association on scouting mission were presence at the event which has not less than 35 participating primary schools across Oyo East/Oyo West in the maiden edition of Hon. Isiaka Kazeem Tunde Football Competition.
