The management of Agricultural and Financial Inclusion for Daily Earners (AFIDE) has assured all its co-operators to remain calm as the organization has commenced payment for co-operators across the states.
The management attributed delay in the payment to the high number of co-operators requesting for their money at the same time.
According to the press statement by Mr. Ishola Abisoye on behalf of the management, disclosed that not less than 5,250 co-operators demanded their money without prior notice and this has resulted in the cash run.
According to him, “once again, we want to reiterate our commitment to our numerous co-operators to repay their contributions to them. We use this medium to affirm that truly people trusted us and contributed their hard-earned money with us. We also affirm that people have every right to demand for their money and protest the delay. However, we must be plain here to let our co-operators know that the delay in payment is due to the recent cash run, where about 5,250 members wish to receive their monies all at once without prior warnings. This over stretched our cash flow and personnel. That led to low morale, health breakdown and many other challenges.”
The management, while appealing to co-operators to exercise patience by stop harassing, attacking and humiliating the members of staff of the organization, ssid that efforts are in place to sort out all pressures and ensure all co-operators are fully settled.
“Notwithstanding the pressure and the challenge, we have already started paying our co-operators across the states we operate in. Our company is registered with relevant government agencies and we do not have any plan or intention of absconding with our co-operator hard earned money. We had to stop receiving money because we wanted to sort out all the pressures on ground and assure the members that we are genuine and reliable. Additionally, as co-operator began to beat, humiliate, attack and arrest our members and also attack the office to the extent of even looting the office, we had to lay low on our operations till every co-operator is fully settled, which we will achieve in a very short while.”
The statement further maintained that the organization is not ready to press any charge against those arrested for vandalizing and looting of its properties, rather encouraged that those arrested were released without any bail condition to prove its commitment to its co-operators.
“We are not fraudulent and we are not running away with people’s money. We have operated for over 4 years in Oyo State, without hitch or difficulty. We are also aware that the police arrested some people for attacking our property and beating our officials, we have secured their bail unconditionally as we are not interested in pressing charges against anyone. Our priority is to get all our clients paid soon. Once again, we hereby recognize that we are owing some of our clients, however it is important to reiterate here that we have already started paying. Also, as against some unfounded rumours by some unscrupulous elements, we want to tell the general public that we are not running away with people’s money and we appeal for patience and support through this phase.
“We shall continue to keep the public informed of the progress in payment of our co-operators as transparency remains an integral part of our company’s policies. We thank you all for your support, patience and understanding. AFIDE will continue to hold you all in high esteem as the lifeline of our business. Thank you all once again,” the statement reads.
