Following the demise of the veteran comic actor, Babatunde Omidina popularly known as Baba Suwe, the Chairman Board of Trustees (BOT) of the Theater Arts and Motion Picture Producers Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), Adebayo Salami has commiserated with family.
Oga Bello as he is fondly called, in a condolence message on his Instagram page, described Baba Suwe as a legend who endeared himself to the heart of the people through his creativity.
According to the veteran Nollywood actor, “on behalf of @tampanglobal Board of Trustees, myself and family, I commiserate with the family of Babatunde Omidina on his demise.
“He contributed immensely to the growth of Nollywood in his creative capacity.
“A legend whose art remained glued to the hearts of many individuals and households.
“He will be greatly missed,” Oga Bello said.
Babatunde Omidina’s death was announced on Monday by one of his daughters, Adesola Omidina.
He died at the age of 63.
Baba Suwe became popular for his comical roles in Nollywood films with Yoruba language.
He suffered poor health in 2018, causing several Nigerians including Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to donate funds for his medical treatment abroad.
