PDP Congresses: Olopoeyan, Ajibola, Other Aggrieved Members On Verge Of Scheming Out, As Makinde Inaugurates Committee

Governor Seyi Makinde

Alhaji Bisi Olopoeyan and member of the House of Representatives, Muraina Ajibola  and some other aggrieved members of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State are on the verge of losing out of who controls the party structure in the state.

This is as a result of the fact that the state Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde has set the machinery in motion for the conduct of the ward, local and state congresses. The governor also inaugurated the Local Organizing Committee members to spearhead the exercise.

This was contained in a communiqué issued at the end of the PDP caucus meeting held at the state’s Government House on Monday.

The communiqué revealed that Engr. Seyi Makinde promised to purchase all the nomination forms for the party at every level, which is an indication that there will only be a selection of all the executive members at ward, local and state based on consensus.

The communiqué reads: “Being a Communique issued at the end of Oyo State PDP Caucus Meeting held at Oyo State Government House, Agodi, Ibadan, Monday 6th of September, 2021

“1. The Entire Caucus appreciated Governor Seyi Makinde for purchasing all the nomination forms for Oyo State 2021 Party Congresses at all levels.

“2. The entire Caucus reiterated their commitment to a rancor free, peaceful and a united congress where every necessary stakeholder will be carried along

“3. The entire Caucus of the Oyo State PDP accepted the Nominations of Dr. Saka Balogun, Hon Oluyemi Taiwo, Rt. Hon Debo Ogundoyin, Alhaja Bose Adedibu, Alhaji Hamid Gbadamosi, Chief Bayo Lawal, Alhaji Kunmi Mustapha, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke, Senator Hosea Agboola, Rt. Hon Maruuf Atilola and Micheal Ogunsina as the Oyo State 2021 Local Organizing Committee for the congress

“4. The entire Oyo State PDP Caucus reaffirms their belief and trust in the leadership of Engr. Seyi Makinde as the leader of PDP in Oyo State.

Meanwhile, Alhaji Bisi Olopoeyan, Hon. Muraina Ajibola, Hon. Mulikat Adeola, Engr. Femi Babalola and some others aggrieved members who did not turn up at the meeting might be probably scheme out at the congresses.

It will be recalled that a faction led by Alhaji Bisi Olopoeyan shunned a peace meeting convened by the Chairman, Reconciliation and Strategic Committee led by former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki to settle the crisis between the faction and the state’s Governor, Seyi Makinde.
