Oyo LG Chairmanship Election: 32 Down, One More To Go For PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has won all the 32 out of 33 Chairmanship seats in just concluded Oyo State local government elections which held on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Ido Local Government election where the exercise was cancelled has been scheduled to hold on Wednesday, May 26, 2021.

The Chairman, Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC), Barrister Isiaka Olagunju (SAN) announced the results at the commissions’ headquarters in Ibadan, the state capital on Sunday.

The Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) on Sunday declared candidates of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) winners of the just concluded local government election in 32 local government areas of the state.

He, however stated that following the violence erupted in Ward 5 and Ward 7, poling unity three in Ibarapa East Local Government, the Commission has suspended the election indefinitely.

Olagunju said that the decision was based on reports from the Presiding Officer and Electoral Officer that the election was disrupted.
