A trader identified as Mrs. Betty has been reportedly dead in fatal accident involving two vehicles along the Ado – Iyin Ekiti axis.
The Police Public Relations Officer in Ekiti State, Sunday Abutu confirmed the incident on Wednesday.
He disclosed that the deceased was said to be driving from Iyin-Ekiti and heading to Ado the state capital when a bus coming from opposite direction ran into her.
The collision caused the woman’s car to go into flames thus killing her on the spot.
Occupants of the other vehicle also sustained serious injuries.
The son of the deceased who was also in the vehicle has been hospitalised at Iyin-Ekiti Specialist Hospital.
Men of the Federal Fire Service rushed to the scene after a failed attempt by road users to rescue the woman and took her lifeless body to the mortuary.
