In order to have an itch-free tournament and to widen the knowledge of football coaches handling mini football, the organizer of Babates 5-Aside football competition has held a brief seminar where the Director of Sports of the University of Ibadan, Dr. Abiodun Salami counseled team’s handlers .
The seminar, according to the Chairman/Founder Babates Empire, Teslim Usman, a member of national 5-aside team was held to educate teams that will participate in the mini soccer tournament scheduled to kick off this Saturday in Okebadan High School, Ibadan.
Dr. Salami while speaking to enlighten the coaches urged them to embrace the spirit of sportsmanship and be cognizant of the rules and regulations of the mini football which are slightly different from the eleven aside football rules.
The Oyo State commissioner for Youths and Sport, Seun Fakorede according to the organizer, is expected to declare the event open as solidarity messages keep coming in from notable lovers of 5-aside football which include Paris Saint-Germain and the Brazil national team Captain, Neymar da Silva Júnior.
Ibadan City SC will tackle Asake FC in the opening match of the tourney on Saturday, while Diamond FC will face Pot Belly FC and Brainnad SC lock horn with MerryBet FC and Fanfaro with Don Bosco FC confronting one another in matches slated for Sunday in the fixtures rolled out by the organizer.
