13 persons have been confirmed dead at yesterday’s petroleum tanker fire disaster at Ochigbudu, Agatu local government area of Benue State.
Benue State Emergency Management Agency confirmed the figure after an assessment visit to the scene of the incident to determine the extent and the level of intervention required by the agency.
The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Samuel Ortom on Disaster Management Mr. Cyprian Tsenongo, who led the delegation made disclosure.
He disclosed that seventy-six shops, eight residential houses, twenty motorcycles, one Keke Napep, three vehicles, and the petroleum truck were burnt in the fire while three persons sustained injuries.
Addressing the victims, Tsenongo assured them of the Governor Samuel Ortom to provide succumb to the affected people once the assessment report is submitted.
