South West PDP‘s Congress Outcome: A Warning Signal To Ruling Party – Party chieftain, Oyelese

A Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Oyo State, Elder Wole Oyelese, has said that outcome of the South West zone of the Party’s Congress is sending a warning signal to the ruling All Progressive Congress.

Elder Oyelese, while commending members of the party for high sense of maturity demonstrated during the congress, he felicitated with the newly elected zonal chairman, Taofeek Arapaja.

The former power and steel Minister also saluted the leadership role played the duo of Governor Seyi Makinde and Mr. Ayo Fayose.

According to Elder Oyelese, “I wish to congratulate both the leadership and the followership of our great party (PDP) in the South Western zone on the successful and peaceful conduct of the zonal congress in Oshogbo on Monday.

“The peaceful conduct of the congress after all the many fireworks in the build up to the exercise has amply demonstrated the Political maturity of our people in the zone.

“I especially congratulate the amiable winning governor of Oyo State and undisputed leader of the party in the South West, Engineer Seyi Makinde for his exemplary leadership style which went a long way to ensure that the congress came to a successful conclusion thus shaming the soothsayers of doom who predicted a bloody exercise.

“I also extend kudos to the former governor of Ekiti State Ayo Fayose for his Political dexterity in bringing the frightening fireworks to an anti-climax by publicly recognizing Governor Makinde as his leader and leader of the PDP in our zone. He has thus exhibited political maturity to douse the tension and putting all agitations to rest.

“The event that took place in Oshogbo on Monday has clearly sent a strong message to the APC that their time is now up as the dominant party in the zone. The PDP by the cordial way the congress ended has no doubt sent a quit notice to thep APC in the zone. A clear notice has now been given to the APC that the South West is going back to her natural home – the PDP as from the next elections up to 2023.”

While congratulating Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja and his able team, Elder Oyelese urged the new zonal Vice-Chairman to use his wealth of political experience to weld the party together back into a strong and formidable electoral machine.

“They must hit the ground running as history is now beckoning on them to give the people of the South West a new lease of life.

“I call on all our teeming supporters to sincerely bury the hatchet and come together in the spirit of “No Victor; No Vanguished” to rally round the new zonal executive to deliver all the states of the South West to the PDP,” Oyelese said.
