Hassan Giwa has been honoured by the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Oyo State Council, with an Award of Excellence for his contributions to Islam and humanity.
The award was presented to Giwa on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at the Society’s Islamic Centre on Liberty Road, Oke-Ado, Ibadan.
Giwa, who is also the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Lagelu State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, received the honour in the presence of members, leaders and other stakeholders of the Islamic organisation.

According to the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society, the recognition followed a selection process conducted by the Oyo State Council.
The council described the award as well deserved, citing Giwa’s commitment to Islam and his contributions to the growth and development of the Muslim community in Oyo State and Nigeria.
Presenting the award, Mutiu Muyiwa Alade described the recognition as being “in recognition of your outstanding and exceptional contributions to Islam and Humanity.”
The council also congratulated Giwa and commended his service and commitment to the Muslim community over the years.
Responding to the Hassan Giwa Award of Excellence, Giwa expressed appreciation to the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society for considering him worthy of the recognition.
He described the award as a source of encouragement and a reminder of the collective efforts of the people who have supported his work.
“I am deeply honoured and sincerely grateful to receive this prestigious award,” Giwa said.
He added that he accepted the recognition “with humility and a profound sense of responsibility,” noting that such an honour was not merely about celebrating an individual but also about recognising the contributions of family members, colleagues, friends, mentors and others.

Giwa dedicated the recognition to his family, colleagues, friends, mentors and everyone who had supported his efforts.
He also expressed appreciation to the organisers and the entire team behind the award for considering his contributions worthy of recognition.
According to him, the honour would inspire him to do more in the areas of service, integrity and excellence.
The Lagelu State Constituency House of Assembly candidate said the recognition had further strengthened his commitment to contributing to the advancement of Islam, humanity and society.
He thanked the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society for the honour and pledged to continue contributing to the development and progress of the Muslim community and society at large.
