21st Century Youth Leadership Summit

The future of youth leadership and the campaign for a drug-free Nigeria will take centre stage in Ibadan on Friday, October 9, 2026, as about 1,000 students are expected to converge on the city for the 21st Century Youth Leadership Summit.

‎Organised by Productivity Boosters, Learn & Lead, and The Good Boys Project, the summit is designed to inspire young Nigerians to make healthy choices, discover their voices and take responsibility for building a safer and drug-free society.

The event will hold at the House of Chiefs Auditorium, Oyo State House of Assembly Complex, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, beginning at 9:00 a.m.

With the theme, “Healthy Choices, Strong Voices: Youth Leadership for a Drug-Free Nigeria,” the summit is coming at a time when young people are increasingly confronted with social pressures and choices capable of influencing their education, careers, relationships and communities.

21st Century Youth Leadership Summit to Promote a Drug-Free Nigeria

The organisers said the summit will not treat students merely as beneficiaries of social interventions but as active stakeholders and emerging leaders capable of influencing positive change among their peers and within society.

The 21st Century Youth Leadership Summit is expected to provide participants with practical knowledge on leadership, productivity, personal development, health and responsible decision-making.

‎The organisers believe that helping young people understand the consequences of their choices and equipping them with the confidence to make responsible decisions are important steps towards preventing drug abuse and other negative influences.

Youth Leadership Summit to Feature Professionals and Advocates

‎The summit will bring together accomplished professionals, community leaders and youth advocates who will engage the students on issues affecting their personal development and future leadership roles.

‎Among the featured speakers is Temitope Ajibola, described as a Generational Architect, Leader, Builder, Inventor and Author.

Also expected to speak is Dr. Adeleye Johnson Adedokun, Chairman of the National Association of Doctors, University Health Services, Oyo State. His participation is expected to provide an important health perspective to discussions on youth wellbeing, responsible choices and drug prevention.

‎Another speaker is Afatakpa Efetobore, Chief Executive Officer of The Dreamers Youth Network, who is expected to bring his experience in youth development to the gathering.

The event will be convened by Afatakpa Fortune, PhD, FIPMA, a team leader with Productivity Boosters.

The convener, who is also a University Don in the Department of Peace, Security and Humanitarian Studies at the University of Ibadan, called on well-meaning Nigerians to support the initiative.

Drug-Free Nigeria Campaign Puts Personal Choices at the Centre

At the heart of the 21st Century Youth Leadership Summit is the message that leadership begins with personal choices.

For the students expected at the event, the summit will provide an opportunity to interact with role models, ask questions and gain practical insights into becoming more productive, resilient and responsible young leaders.

The organisers believe that young people equipped with knowledge, confidence and a strong sense of purpose are better positioned to resist negative peer pressure and make choices that benefit their families, schools and communities.

The summit’s focus on healthy choices is therefore expected to connect personal responsibility with the wider objective of building a drug-free Nigeria.

The gathering is expected to provide a platform for young people to discuss leadership, health, productivity and the challenges confronting their generation.
