The management and entire members of Staff of Oyo State House of Assembly have commiserated with the state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, the Speaker, Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin and all lawmakers over the death of Hon Olusegun Ademola Popoola.
the management of the state’s legislative arm of government also expressed it condolences to the wife, children, family members, constituents and other associates of the departed lawmaker.
The condolences contained in a statement released and made available to newsmen by the Clerk of the House, Mrs. Yetunde Oludara Awe, the House of Assembly management described the news of the untimely death of the lawmaker as painful, a rude shock and heavy to swallow.
The statement added that the vacuum left behind in the activities of the 9th Assembly by the death of the Hon. Popoola would be difficult to fill.
The statement described late Hon. Popoola as an easy going, intelligent, hand working, meek and generous man, who used his pool of parliamentary experience to drive the achievements of the 9th Assembly.
The Clerk, in the statement, however prayed for the immediate family, his loved ones, constituents, Oyo State House of Assembly and government of Oyo State that the Lord will grant them the fortitude to bear the loss.
Hon. Popoola until his death represented Ibadan South East state constituency 2 and the Chairman, House Committee on Local Government, Chieftaincy Matters and State Honours.
He was also the Vice Chairman, Commerce and Cooperative, as well as member of the Code of Conduct and Ethics and Privileges Committee of the House.
Hon. Ademola Olusegun Popoola died at University College Hospital, Ibadan at the age of 46 after a brief illness.
